Creating a Restful Hamptons-Inspired Bathroom

Your bathroom can be much more than a functional space. With a Hamptons-style aesthetic, your bathroom can be where you retreat, relax and unwind. Your bathroom can feel spa-like and as if it’s your own oasis.
Take advantage of natural light for a Hamptons-style bathroom.
Consider leaving the window coverings off or using minimalist shades so natural light can fill the space.

Curtains can also be excellent if you need window coverings because they can be pulled aside for maximum light exposure. If you use drapes, they can also serve as a decorative frame for a tub.

Soft, subtle, and often neutral colour palettes are beautiful in a Hamptons bathroom because they create that simple, clean, and spa-like experience.

Lighting & Layers
Chandelier lighting can add a gentle glow and an elevated style to a bathroom, as can sconce lighting flanking a focal point, like a large window, mirror or soaking tub.
Soft layers, including decadent towels and floor rugs, as well as a bathrobe or two create texture and layered detail. These additions promote the feeling of being in a luxury space.

Accessories
Accessories always have their place in a bathroom design as well. Ginger jars are a way to add colour to the top of your bathroom vanity or surrounding your tub, and they double as added storage.

Ceramic stools are another spa-inspired design detail. You can add them beside your shower or tub, stack fresh towels, or use them as a space for your favourite products.
Finally, faux orchids are reminiscent of a resort-like spa, bringing a natural element into your bathroom without any maintenance.
Be inspired to enhance your bathroom, powder room and ensuite - add seating, wallpaper or a beautiful paint colour, add window coverings to stage an area such as the bath, or remove the window coverings to blur the lines between the indoors and out. What ever your inspiration, make your bathroom a delight to enter.
